Global War On Terrorism Memorial Foundation

The GWOT Memorial Foundation leads the efforts to build the National GWOT Memorial in our nation’s capital to commemorate and honor the members of the Armed Forces who served in support of our nation’s longest war, especially those who gave the ultimate sacrifice. Consistent with its mission, the Foundation will recognize and salute the service and sacrifices of all who served in defense of the nation in this conflict, as well as their families and friends.

Winstanley Architects & Planners has been working as the Executive Architect for The Global War on Terror Memorial Foundation. Winstanley Architects & Planners will be providing guidance for the planning and development of the memorial as well as manage and oversee a 24-step process required by the National Capital Planning Commission and National Capital Memorial Advisory Commission.

Since our selection, we have assisted the GWOT Memorial Foundation secure a site on the National Mall within the Reserve next to the Lincoln Memorial.  We have also assisted the GWOT Memorial Foundation in collaborating to gather input from the veteran community and the public to ensure the memorial pays proper tribute to GWOT veterans as well as their friends and families – and is truly a reflection of the American people.
