As part of the Prentiss fields athletic fields and master plan, a new remote locker room building was designed to provide an on-site location for team rooms, a training room, and shower facilities. Amenities for spectators and parents were also designed into the project, including a refreshment stand and restrooms.
The design of the structure is reminiscent of the agrarian structures that once were located on the site.
In keeping with the aesthetic of the Hudson Valley architectural styles and Vassar College, the new building has a simple form made of wood siding and a shingle roof. The building mass is arranged to create a sense of place by forming a courtyard facing onto the fields.
Michael Winstanley AIA AICP was the Design Principal for this project during his tenure as Design Director at Leo A Daly.
